The Isle of Palms Garden Club invites everyone to join them for useful information and social networking on September 17, 2009. This meeting starts with horticulture questions and design review while enjoying delicious treats. The focus of this meeting is “Can I recycle this?” Jenny Bloom, Charleston County’s Recycling Educator will be at our meeting to clear up all our questions about recycling. Save items, you think are questionable. Jenny is ready to answer all questions. It is important to recycle correctly and learn what happens if we don’t. Continue this new way of life.
Did you know that the Isle of Palms Garden Club was organized in 1948 and is a Federated Garden Club? Its purpose is to continue development of flower design knowledge and good gardening skills through monthly programs, special workshops and flower show participation; to increase member awareness and involvement in conservation and environmental programs; to work with the community in beautifying public areas; and working with area youth and providing programs in garden therapy for our senior citizens.
Do you want to know more about horticulture and design? Everyone is invited to join the IOP Garden Club you don’t have to live on Isle of Palms to join. The Isle of Palms Garden Club Meeting will be Thursday, September 17 at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club. This interesting program starts at 6:30pm with social and horticulture chitchat. The Jenny Bloom’s program starts at 7:00pm. You are welcome to attend.
Keep America Beautiful, get involved, get outside, save the ocean, plant a native plant, plant a tree plant and lots of trees, recycle something, eliminate litter, create beauty, teach a child. You… yes, you can do all of this.
