Sight Council Remains Anonymous

The Island Eye News received results from the island-wide survey conducted on behalf of the “Sight Council” in mid-February. Results will not be published due to the anonymity of the group and the unknown methodology by which the survey was conducted and the results concluded. All articles, letters to the editor, and opinion-editorial pieces must be published with a verifiable author. Results are available for viewing at the Island Eye News office, Monday – Friday, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Given the viscious reaction that anyone who speaks out against the powers that be receives, you cant blame them. More so when you see the survey results that show the overwhelming majority of island residents neither supports the town council of Sullivans Island or the construction of the mega school. The complicity of the media in the face of overwhelming evidence for a needed vote by the survey and the two petitions served to town council is disgusting. The towns case was presented in court recently and rejected as the judge ruled on behalf of islanders for a smaller school. All this would have been resolved years ago if the town council of sullivans had allowed a $500 vote. Now they want people to vote for them in the upcoming election. What an ironic joke. The only vote that should be cast in the upcoming election is a write in vote for Carl Smith for mayor.
