The perfect bite for game day now that football season is upon us, these hot wings are surprisingly simple to whip up.
3 lb split chicken wings, or drumettes
Rice bran or canola oil for frying
2/3 cups hot sauce
2/3 cups Stubbs Wing Sauce
1/2 tsp celery salt
4 oz blue cheese
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 bunch celery cut into sticks, finely chop the leaves
Serves 8 as an appetizer
1. Marinate wings in hot sauce for 24 hours.
2. Heat oil in fryer or deep sturdy saucepan until temperature reaches 375 degrees. Fry wings in small batches. Add to wing sauce with celery salt. You may broil or grill them before serving.
3. Combine blue cheese, buttermilk and mayonnaise. Serve with celery sticks and wings.
