I am running for City Council because there is a critical need for candidates who have experience with the City government, in-depth knowledge of the issues currently facing the island and who have proven their dedication to improve the quality of life for the residents.
I am currently the Chairman of the Planning Commission and I have been on this committee for four years. Before that, I was on the Construction Code Board of Appeals for eight years. I hold a Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Clemson University and am currently a practicing architect, having done extensive work on the island.
I have been fortunate to have lived and/or worked on the Island for 16 years with my wife, Karen, and my 15 year old daughter, Alexandra. During this time, I have seen many changes on the island. I know that I can help make the City government more efficient and spend our tax dollars wisely. I want to help protect the interests of the residents from the impact of the many visitors to our island while making the Isle of Palms a desirable place to live and a wonderful family vacation destination.
