Sullivan’s Island Police Report: June 2016

6/03 – A vehicle was stopped for several traffic violations. While conducting the stop the officer learned that the driver had been drinking, the driver was arrested and lodged into the county jail.

06/03 – A subject was observed on property posted as no trespassing. The subject was cited and released at the scene.

06/04 – Officer responded to a possible theft of lumber from a construction site. During the investigation it was learned that approximately 50 sheets of plywood had been removed from the site.

06/13 – The gate of a local business was found unsecured during a security check of that business. The owner was advised of the unsecured gate.

06/13 – A complainant reported that he had received notification from his identity protection system that someone had attempted to receive a credit card using his Social Security number and date of birth.

06/17 – After a report of a campsite in the accreted land near Station 14, the officers found the site and dismantled it seizing the camping equipment.

06/19 – While on patrol, an officer found a door of the Fort Moultrie offices unsecured. A key holder was notified who responded and secured the building.

06/22 – While on patrol, an officer found a door of the Fort Moultrie offices unsecured. A key holder was notified who responded and secured the building.

06/23 – While checking a construction site, the officer found the gate unsecured. The site was checked and found ok; the gate was locked.

06/27 – While in knee-deep water, a subject was injured by what he believed to be a shark causing gashes to the top of his left foot.

06/27 – A subject was found to be in possession of a fake ID attempting to purchase beer. He was cited and released.

06/30 – A complainant reported that he believes that water is being stolen from his residence. He believes this because of his high water bill and that one day he found his hose stretched from his house toward the house under construction next door.
