The City of Isle of Palms is sitting on a substantial reserve of funds. By comparison it is more than 5 times Sullivan’s Island’s and more than most SC towns. The town should be putting these reserves (unobligated funds) to work for improved services and programs for its citizens. My hope is this council will do so or I will propose a $1million property tax refund to our residents. It is your money and if not working for you, it should be returned so you may use it as you see fit. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us regarding this issue as we begin our budget process.
