Jellyfish season is in full swing and IOP County Parks continues to report higher than normal stings among beachgoers.
Saturday, Aug. 11 saw 213 stings reported by the County Park, Sunday saw another 42. Park officials clarify that it’s relative to the number of people frequenting the beach and Saturday saw high numbers in tourists and visitors. “Normally we see a lot of jellyfish in the month of August,” said a park official, “due to the increase in water temperature.”
