Perspective Gallery in Mt. Pleasant, SC is pleased to present “By Land and By Sea,” a collection of new oil paintings by featured artist, Ginny Versteegen. “By Land and By Sea” invites you into the landscapes of the Lowcountry through the eyes of contemporary impressionist Ginny Versteegen. Join the celebration of the opening night and meet the artist on Sept. 6 at Perspective Gallery from 4-6 p.m.
The exhibit will be featured from Sept. 1-30.
From the light filled shells in the oil painting, “Gifts From the Sea” to the drama of the landscape in “Winter’s Song”, Ginny Versteegen uses her love of the color and light to express her impressions. Her subjects come to life through her use of oil paint on canvas and linen. Versteegen can be found about town painting in plein air. Being a plein air painter allows the artist to gather information for her paintings in the field.
Versteegen moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2006, after traveling the world and teaching art. Her work exhibits an international flair for she has lived abroad and continues to travel and, of course, paint wherever she goes.
This year Versteegen traveled cross-country for 2 months attending the Plein Air Convention in Sante Fe, NM and visiting numerous National Parks out West. “The world and it’s many wonders are my inspiration,” says Versteegen. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, a juried member of Charleston Artist Guild and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Artist Guild. Her work may be found in many private and public collections.
