This year’s Art on the Beach event poster features stained glass artwork by Honey McCrary. McCrary is a 22-year-old artist, born and raised in Charleston, SC. McCrary began exploring her artistic talent at the young age of 4 and grew up taking classes at Creative Spark. She sold her first painting at age 10, won her first National Art Award for a shark mosaic at The South Carolina Aquarium her senior year of high school, and was the youngest artist to exhibit artwork at Piccolo Spoleto at age 18.

“I enjoy making pieces of art that just make you feel happy when you look at them,” says McCrary. “I believe my many years spent as a child at Creative Spark were instrumental in my passion for exploring and creating many mediums of ‘feel good’ art.” While mosaics are Honey’s main focus for now, she also enjoys painting, writing, screen-printing, sewing, muraling, making music and much more.  Honey is constantly on the hunt for new sources of inspiration and acquiring recycled materials to create her eye-catching glass on glass mosaics. Honey McCrary’s artwork, as well as the artwork of over 30 local artists, will be on display for sale in the homes on the Art on the Beach house tour.

The house tour (1-5pm) is approximately a 4-mile loop beginning at Sandpiper Gallery.  The route is bicycle friendly and limited golf cart ride tickets will also be offered for an extra charge.
