February 7, 2010 – At 7pm Sunday night, PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. closed Ben Sawyer Boulevard (SC 703) over the Ben Sawyer Bridge for the first day of the ten day closure. Workers will position the new swing span and approaches onto the existing bridge’s foundation piers during this time.

Crews are working two shifts, 24 hours a day, with the goal to complete closure activities as soon as possible. While others are enjoying the big game, construction crews worked through the night to prepare for the removal of the old swing span with the high tide (roughly mid-day).
